Circuit OKs order against holding unaccompanied minor immigrants in motels

Scott G. Stewart, a U.S. Department of Justice attorney, said DHS was following a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention order to keep unaccompanied minors away from other detained immigrants to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Wednesday affirmed a district judge's order denying the government the right to hold unaccompanied minor immigrants in motels for extended periods pending expulsion from the country.
