Talk show host wins place on recall ballot, tax returns unneeded

During a brief hearing in Sacramento County Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon, Judge Laurie M. Earl said the election rule Republican Larry Elder’s campaign was accused of violating did not appear to apply to the recall election at all.

Radio talk show host Larry Elder claims he is the candidate who can beat Gov. Gavin Newsom in the recall election and will have a chance to prove it after court hearings Wednesday. So will former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, though he won't be able to identify himself by that title.
