Biden names 2 for San Diego federal bench

The nominees are U.S. Magistrate Judge Linda Lopez of San Diego, a former criminal defense attorney who has worked as a federal public defender, and San Diego County Superior Court Judge Jinsook Ohta, who was a deputy attorney general in the consumer protection section of the office.

President Joe Biden on Thursday nominated judges to fill two of the seven judicial vacancies on the Southern District of California bench.

The nominees are U.S. Magistrate Judge Linda Lopez of San Diego, a former criminal defense attorney who has worked as a federal public defender, and San Diego County Superior Court Judge Jinsook Ohta, who was a deputy attorney general in the consumer protection section of the office.
