Sanction of Facebook, Gibson Dunn sought in discovery delay

Facebook and Gibson Dunn insisted they did not commit any wrongdoing and plaintiffs’ counsel were unreasonable and incessantly requesting documents.

Attorneys for a class of Facebook users asked a federal judge to impose a $2.05 million sanction against Facebook Inc. and its counsel Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP for greatly delaying the discovery process in a multidistrict privacy case. The alleged misconduct raised fees and costs well beyond what is sought in the petition, plaintiffs’ counsel said.
