It is the well-settled rule in California that a parent (or guardian) is not liable for the torts of his minor child without participation in the fault by the parent: “This is only a cryptic way of saying that where the parent is without fault, he is not liable.” (Ellis v. D’Angelo (1953) 116 Cal. App. 2nd 310, 320; Weber v. Punyan (1937) 9 Cal. 2nd 226, 235.)
