Cross talk, squabbling, finger pointing in hearing on witness deposition
Lead plaintiffs' counsel Dennis S. Ellis, a partner at Ellis George LLP, said he took issue with the fact that his colleague flew from Los Angeles to North Carolina the night before a witness deposition only to be turned away by Wells Fargo's attorneys and escorted from the building by security. A motion for sanctions against Wells Fargo & Co. dissolved into tense cross talk and squabbling between the attorneys as they told a federal judge on Thursday that allegations that the bank considered aspiring white homeowners more favorably for mortgage loans than their minority counterparts were unlikely to be resolved before trial.
