Advocating for Bais Din Siruvs: Upholding religious authority and justice

In Esses v. Rosen, 24-CV-3605 (RPK) (CLP) (ED NY, Oct. 15, 2024), a New York federal district court firmly rejected a motion to issue a preliminary injunction that would prevent defendants from disseminating a notice from a Bais Din (Rabbinical Court), known as a Siruv. A Siruv is a judgment of contempt. One who ignores a summons or refuses to appear before Bais Din may be found in contempt of Bais Din. This
