Uber faces unified push to dismiss RICO claims targeting injury firms
Defense firms and medical providers hit back at Uber's federal racketeering, filing motions to dismiss based on anti-SLAPP, litigation privilege, Noerr-Pennington immunity and alleged failure to plead fraud with particularity.
A federal racketeering lawsuit by Uber Technologies faced a coordinated counterattack as Downtown L.A. Law Group, The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani and medical providers moved to dismiss claims that they colluded to fabricate medical bills and inflate litigation costs in personal injury cases against the rideshare giant.
