First woman sworn in to lead Northern District Federal Public Defender’s Office

Jodi Linker has worked in the office since 2007. The San Francisco Federal Defender’s Office is the second oldest in the nation.

An investiture ceremony for Northern District Federal Public Defender Jodi Linker took place Wednesday. Linker, the first woman to lead the office, was sworn in by Chief U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg. She officially took the job on March 4.

The Federal Defender’s Office in San Francisco was established 50 years ago and is the second oldest in the nation.

Linker began working as an assistant federal defender in 2007. She previously worked in law firms and was an adviser to U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer and a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer.
