Probate, Business
For the past nine years, sailing has been an important part of my life. It has taught me a lot about navigating uncertainty, adapting to changing conditions, and keeping a steady hand even in rough waters. In my professional life, I spent years as a litigator, advocating for clients in a wide variety of disputes which allowed me to see firsthand how costly, time-consuming, and emotionally draining litigation can be. I now use that experience to help people find solutions to their disputes through mediation.
Litigation, like sailing, whether to islands off the coast of Greece, Sicily, the Caribbean or the Channel Islands in California, requires strategy, foresight, and the ability to adjust when the unexpected arises is critical. In both litigation and sailing, you must read the conditions carefully, anticipate challenges, and make calculated decisions that keep you moving forward. As a mediator, I use that experience and knowledge to help guide the parties toward resolution with clarity and confidence.
On the water, as in mediation, success isn't about forcing a course -- it's about working with the elements at hand. At the end of the day, both sailing and mediation are about trust, communication, and the ability to adapt. Whether guiding a boat safely to harbor or helping individuals reach a resolution, my goal remains the same: to chart a course that gets everyone where they need to go.
The mediations are guided by the experience gained from more than 30 years of practice in the areas of Probate Trust and Conservatorship litigation as well as real estate transactional and litigation experience. A further perspective comes from the practical experience of drafting estate plans and administering probate, trust and conservatorship estates.
All of these skills are brought to the table to get the parties talking and the cases resolved.
