Judge Terry Truong expects youths in her court to become stars

After a stint overseeing adult misdemeanor trials, Judge Terry Truong asked to return to juvenile court, where she feels like she can make a real difference, partly by expecting attorneys appearing before her to be well-versed on their client's background.

One of the most gratifying parts of Judge Terry Truong's job in non-minor dependency court comes after the proceedings end.

"I have about 800 youth on my caseload, and a lot of them don't call me, some because they don't want to call anybody, some just because they're working or they're in school, which is fine, but I really appreciate the ones that call me," Truong said. "I appreciate the ones that come and see me."
