VISTA - Abandoned by her mother and raised by grandparents, San Diego County Superior Court Judge Renée N. G. Stackhouse's childhood was marked by challenges that shaped her path to the bench and inform her jurisprudence.
"My mother had her own stuff to deal with, and when I was 2, she brought me to Grandma's, and I never left. I would see her every once in a while growing up, but I haven't talked to her since I was 18."
