LOS ANGELES - Tucked away on shelves in Judge Maria E. Stratton's chambers, with sundry family photos and an array of awards, are several small, colorful paintings and collages.
"That's death row art!" Stratton exclaimed recently, when asked about a painting featuring a kaleidoscopic buffalo. "It's made of toilet paper."
