LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Mina D. Fried smiles when she recalls how her Lithuanian-born father and Polish-born mother would send her to the neighborhood deli when she was a little girl to pick up a half-dozen rolls. The employees were always amused, she says.
